Jimmy pike died in 2002 but a show of textiles and prints has been touring in his honour. pikes show is made up of long rolls of fabric prints that are a mixture of indigenous art, 70's-80's psychedelic art, with commercial elements inspired by the fashion industry, Andy Warhol, and various design/visual art print makers. the show runs until November 25th, and will cross over into Adelaide fashion week. this will culminate with a large scale fashion show where Jimmy's fabric prints are the back drop and his designs and patterns are the focus of the show. as the models parade them through Tandanya gallery on a temporary cat walk.
