Roads Crossed was a displayed in the state libary earlier in the year. it was a showcase of contemporary aboriginal works and was deffinitive to what where contemporary aboriginal art is going and what direction it is taking. my favourite peice in the show is a work by Shane Pickett an artist from western australia. it combines some more traditional aspects of aboriginal art into a more western style of abstraction and at the same time produces work that looks more like aerial photography than other forms of dot paintings that are more traditionally symbolic. he states that his works are tied to weather patterns more than anything else.
